like many people in a transitioning economy, Jason Gibson, a former factory worker, decided to follow his entrepreneurial spirit and now runs his own growing portable sanitation business, 64 Portables. His small business success story is featured in the current issue of an international trade magazine for portable restroom operators called PRO.
Gibson, an Indiana native who moved to Davidson County 11 years ago, worked for Thomas Built Buses in High Point for six and a half years before striking out on his own full time. While working at the bus factory, he began moonlighting cleaning septic tanks, inspired by a friend who had launched a similar business. His part time business was called 64 Septic Services, since he and his family live off U.S. Highway 64 East.
